On the horizon
Emerald and Prussian Blue
Swoon, hold hands and dance
Many years ago, on a hot July afternoon, I encountered a large-format painting at the Madison Art Fair that captured my heart. The painted scene was a Big Sky summer landscape, lush green fields in the foreground with a blue/gray thunderstorm on the horizon. That color palette haunted me - I could feel the calm before the energy of the storm. I regret not buying that painting and have been searching for a similar scene to photograph ever since. This shot is as close as I’ve come to recreating that long-lost painting.
